The story of Naveen and Riccardo
Two paths into building
Naveen and Riccardo arrived at Tari through different but compatible influences. Naveen watched his parents come to a new country with little and build a life, while his father's entrepreneurial attempts taught him that setbacks are part of making something real. Riccardo grew up in apartheid South Africa and developed a lifelong drive to tinker, hack, and understand systems.
He recalls family choices that resisted the country's enforced separation and allowed people to mix. Both stories connect technology with human agency. Building was not only about clever code; it was about deciding what kind of access and integrity a system should support.
Failure as technical preparation
Their professional paths included businesses, music-industry work, money made and lost, and projects that did not proceed as planned. The conversation treats those outcomes as operating knowledge rather than evidence to stop. Naveen learned to bet on people who could push through obstacles, while Riccardo's tinkering background encouraged first-principles questions instead of copying existing blockchain patterns.
Privacy created a difficult design challenge because performance, usability, and confidentiality all had to coexist. Their answer was not to add privacy as a marketing layer later, but to make it part of the architecture and continue learning through repeated technical and organizational failures.
Tari as a platform for creators
Naveen and Riccardo now work on Tari as infrastructure for developers and creators who want to build digital assets and applications with meaningful confidentiality. The platform is designed for high performance, seamless integration, and experiences that do not force users to understand every blockchain detail. They describe Tari as a place for tinkerers, reflecting their belief that the most valuable applications may not resemble current products.
Privacy is central because businesses and individuals need control over information to participate safely. Their current mission combines technical rigor with an ecosystem approach, giving builders tools, community, and room to invent new forms of digital ownership.
