The story of Lauris
Ambition shaped by contrast
Lauris grew up feeling pressure to fit in while privately pursuing interests that did not always match the path around him. His father's experience of growing up with limited resources and without a college education influenced Lauris's early idea of success. He initially aimed for a prestigious school and profession, partly to create distance from that background.
Music also gave him another outlet and a way to practice discipline. Over time, the tension between external status and internal interest pushed him toward entrepreneurship, where results mattered more than a conventional title and where brand thinking could become a practical advantage.
Failure before DeFi Summer
After college, Lauris left the safer route to start a company. The venture failed, and the timing placed that setback just before his entry into DeFi Summer. Web3 then introduced a different kind of pressure: fast markets, extreme wins and losses, and projects that could attract money before earning trust.
Lauris learned that a polished product or protocol is not enough when the people behind it are unclear. He also saw how quickly financial incentives can overwhelm judgment. The experience turned failure into a filter, helping him focus on durable brand, founder credibility, and the human motives underneath technical or financial claims.
Building Multiplier through market cycles
Lauris now brings brand marketing into Multiplier and the broader Web3 market, including work connected to memes, culture, and smaller-cap assets. His approach treats products as experiences that need distribution, narrative, and a reason for communities to stay engaged when speculation cools. He speaks openly about building during bear markets and about the emotional effect of large gains and losses.
Rather than separating brand from product, Lauris sees the two as mutually reinforcing. The current work is an attempt to create lasting impact in a sector where attention moves quickly and where founder discipline matters most after the easy momentum disappears.
