The story of Yot
Learning freedom, craft, and original thought
Yot spent his first seven years in Greece before moving to the United Kingdom, growing up near the sea and countryside in both places. Time outdoors gave him space away from screens, while his father's work as a traditional dancer and tavern co-owner showed him that serious effort could still be playful. A demanding football coach reinforced persistence and high standards.
At university, Yot studied advertising and found that his creative work consistently outperformed his written assignments. Those experiences shaped a practical definition of creativity based on original thought, personal observation, and making something people can genuinely respond to rather than repeating whatever is already popular.
Leaving the expected path and earning trust
University and conventional employment exposed a recurring mismatch between Yot's creative strengths and environments where he had little autonomy. A manager who dismissed his intelligence became a catalyst for leaving one role and pursuing work on his own terms. In Web3, he supported himself through product contracts and trading while making hundreds of free edits for Pudgy Penguins and Azuki members.
That generosity built relationships, but it also made later attempts to charge for custom work difficult because people had learned to expect it for free. Yot responded by moving toward scalable tools and original products, carrying forward a belief that trust comes from steady participation, useful work, and listening carefully to informed community feedback.
Building Fugz brick by brick
Yot now leads Fugz, a collection of fuzzy gopher characters designed as an original Web3 IP rather than a short-lived speculative release. The project introduced twelve characters with distinct names, movement, and personality profiles so collectors could connect with recognizable identities, not only visual traits. Yot spent about five months building awareness through direct conversations and organic community participation, and the collection sold out before its public phase on Abstract.
His next focus is a gradually expanding Fugz hub with collector profiles, badges, social connections, and incentives for people who create around the brand. He plans to release features in stages, observe usage, fix problems, and let community feedback shape later versions.
