The story of Korky
Fashion, Travel, and Online Guilds
Korky grew up in eastern France near the Swiss border. His father spent decades writing travel guides, and his mother ran a prominent fashion shop that had roots in the family's earlier retail work. Regular trips to Paris exposed Korky to collections and buying decisions, while time in the store taught him how closely a retailer could know each customer. Gaming supplied a second education.
He played Counter-Strike competitively and devoted much of his final school years to World of Warcraft, where forty-person raids required coordination, specialized roles, and trust. The combination stayed with him. His mother's eye for products and customers showed how taste becomes a business practice, while online guilds demonstrated how shared goals create durable relationships. Fashion, gaming, travel, and technology became connected parts of the same creative foundation.
Learning to Bridge Creative and Commercial Work
Korky studied languages in England before entering the French Institute of Fashion, where he trained on the management side of the industry. Work at a small menswear company forced him to learn collection planning, technical specifications, data, suppliers, and team leadership with little supervision. Two later fashion ventures ended after co-founder relationships stopped working as intended, including one partnership where the promised communications work did not materialize.
He then joined a large creator-led fashion brand and developed Japanese-inspired capsule collections, anime content, and a hot sauce collaboration. Across those roles, Korky learned that his strength was connecting designers, developers, supply chains, marketing, and customers. The role also brought pressure: creative output arrives unevenly, remote contributors work across time zones, and a leader must keep progress visible without forcing people past the point where their work suffers.
Building a World Before Expanding It
ChainZoku brought Korky's fashion, gaming, and community experience into one project. Before its 2023 mint, the team prepared an interactive manga, hundreds of visual assets, and a system that let holders customize characters and complete quests. The world centers on rival clans with opposing ideas about nature and progress, giving the collectibles a story framework rather than leaving them as static images.
For chapter two on Abstract, Korky described a revised role-playing experience alongside short, accessible games with rewards and benefits for holders. He is also connecting the digital world to a hot sauce business whose team grows its own peppers and experiments with product-linked play. Throughout the project, Discord serves as the community home, while social media, events, individual calls, and physical products help new people discover the work and deepen relationships beyond a single platform.
